I think I would rather deal with the toxic fumes than lose the new-car smell.
From USA Today:
Anyone who’s pulled away from the dealer’s lot in a shiny, new car knows the seductive scent of fresh plastic, paint and upholstery that evokes a rush of pride and consumer satisfaction.
But that unmistakable new-car smell may soon be heading the way of the rumble seat: Recent research linking it to a toxic cocktail of harmful chemicals is spurring efforts by Japanese automakers to tone down the fumes.
Team MW returned to play Wednesday night as they faced Jordan Auto Parts. Jordan started the game strong as they appeared to score at will against the lackluster defense of March-Westin, eventually building a 13 point lead.
However, MW refused to go down without a fight, eventually regrouping to display the solid defense and strong 2-out rallies behind the plate that we have grown to know and love.
With Westin down by 12 in the bottom of the 5th and needing three runs just to continue the game, it was do or die time. Things were looking grim for Westin as James struck out and Tom lined out to further dig a hole. But Scott was able to contribute with a clutch 2-out, bases loaded hit to right center; an emotional boost that help propel the game into the final innings. MW was down 6 runs as they entered the bottom of the 7th. Westin was able to close this gap to 1 run, but the comeback was too little, too late as MW failed to score enough to secure a victory.
Jackson suffered a thumb injury as he collided with the outfield fence. Critics have voiced concern that this type of injury may come back to haunt him for the remainder of the season. Other injuries include Dave (hamstring), Scott (wrist), and Tom (ankle).
March-Westin wraps up the regular season this Friday September 30th with a pair of makeup games starting at 6.
