Team Allied Waste failed to show up for March-Westins first game of the Thursday doubleheader. It is apparent that they have been reviewing the March-Westin scouting report and knew that they stood no chance.
Allied Logging however, was evidently lesser informed and arrived for the 7 o’clock game to meet their fate.
Jackson started off the game appropriately with an in-the-park home run to left field; only to be shortly thereafter followed up by a 2-run blast by Nick. Westin continued the solid hitting throughout the game as they cruised to a 17-7 victory.
Coach Tom returned to the lineup, but was not exactly a threat as he went 0-2 with a sacrifice fly to right filed. Tom’s inability to produce in his first outing is further fueling concerns that his lack of playing time as of late may affect his timing at the plate. Nick said of Tom’s hits to right field, “I don’t know what he was doing, maybe he had a crush on the right fielder and wanted to make him look good.”
But even with the weak link at the helm, MW continued to showcase solid fielding and smart base running, two aspects that are critical for success in this league.
Thursday nights wins puts March-Westin’s record to 5-3 (.625).
March-Westin will look to continue its newfound winning streak this Monday as they take on Galloway’s Florist (6:00pm) and ISR (7:00pm).

Don’t believe the leftist media propaganda about Coach Tom’s demise. The people must not forget that I play on the co-ed team as well. With the full schedule that I play I have several nagging injuries that are affecting my play. Be warned that I WILL be ready for Monday’s quadruple-header. If Scott doesn’t watch it he might lose his role as catcher!
